The purpose of this writing is to share the background uncovered from many years of research. Genealogy is most time consuming, with many dead ends, many unanswered questions, yet a completely remarkable journey. It is the most captivating experience that I have every had.
Research is based on what has been recorded, whether it be legal documents, Bible Records, correspondence, and family lore. You will find some items that will make you very proud and others that will make you humble.
I have been very lucky in respects to finding others who are researching this family and allied families, who were more than willing to share information, documents, stories and photos.
I do have two requests. One is that you keep records in a Family Bible. This lends dignity and worth to our lives. The second request is that you label photographs in some way that identifies the persons in the photo, along with the place taken and the date. This is so very important. In doing Genealogy it is such an awe inspiring feeling to be able to put a face with a name. You have studied the facts of these peoples lives, and to see a photo of them, it is almost like looking into their sole.
In researching the Robertson and related lines, there is much information contained about other families. For those with whom we share an ancestor or descendant, they are most welcome to use the information given here.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
